Is warehouse vending really free to the operator?

Yes — at qualifying sites. The vending operator funds the equipment, installation, restocking, repairs, and service in exchange for the placement. Most fulfillment and distribution centers with 100+ daily on-site workers qualify; smaller warehouses may need a beverage-only machine or a shared micro-market footprint to make the math work.

How does vending differ from a full micro market?

Traditional vending is a single machine with snacks/drinks behind glass. A micro market is an unmanned attended-retail area — open shelving, refrigerators and freezers, fresh food, a self-checkout kiosk. Micro markets fit warehouses with 200+ workers and dedicated breakroom space; vending fits everything else. Most large DCs run both: vending near the floor for quick grabs, micro market in the main break area for full meals.

How is the program funded for a 24/7 facility?

Funding model is identical at 24/7 sites — the operator carries the cost. Restocking frequency increases (often twice-weekly at high-volume DCs), and the operator's route is coordinated around shift changes so service doesn't disrupt the floor. Some operators offer subsidies or wellness incentives where the employer pre-loads worker accounts for healthier SKUs.

What if our facility is remote?

Remote and rural warehouses need a few extra configuration items: cellular telemetry instead of WiFi, more robust route scheduling, and sometimes a larger machine footprint so restock visits can be less frequent.
